Spring cleaning…

Okay, so it might be a bit late for spring cleaning (maybe it isn’t, I have no idea when the seasons change) but I’ve removed a lot of posts from this blog today and also deleted my entire tweet history from my twitter account. The reason for this is because going back through my social networking presence last night revealed to me that I was coming across as a weird, schizophrenic mix of personalities. I’ve resolved to project a more focused, and hopefully realistic, representation of the person I am from now on in cyberspace. Do people still say ‘cyberspace’? Whatever, I don’t care I’m bringing it back.

DON’T COP   An Occupy London protester offers a flower to a police officer to mark May Day.  In the U.S., demonstrations, strikes and acts of civil disobedience were planned Tuesday, including what could be the country’s most high-profile Occupy rallies since the anti-Wall Street encampments came down in the fall.  (Photo: Lefteris Pitarakis / AP via MSNBC)

Client: So you got everything you need? Take all the time you want. We really believe we understand the mind of the creative individual. We know it takes time to create a powerful ad.

Me: Yeah. It does. Thanks.

Client: But it’s urgent. Just imagine that it should have been done as of yesterday.

Me: But no deadline?

Client: Right. Well, I mean, we need it for four days, but otherwise, yeah - no deadline.

So true. I signed up for Pinterest last week, re-pinned one image and I’ve never been back. They say a picture paints a thousand words, but it doesn’t.

It’s true what they say…

There really are no jobs out there at the moment. I have degree-level education, experience in every type of working environment, good references, and a legit reason for leaving my last job (redundancy). You’d think it would be easy to find a halfway-decent job under those circumstances. Well you’d be wrong. Horribly wrong.

What makes matters much worse is that looking for work is made so much harder by all of the employment agencies advertising jobs, which probably don’t even exist, all over the place in order to boost their client base. Every time I see a job vacancy that looks promising it’s always just a ruse to get you to go to the recruitment company’s website and sign on with them. I find it particularly annoying that the government’s jobsearch site is plagued by these private agencies using a public resource for their own commercial marketing purposes.

The depressingly futile search continues.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?
tumblrbot asked

I’d probably have to say my computer. Not that it’s particularly amazing, or that it’s different from any other computer, but because I spend a lot of time using it. Although, now I’m wondering, is an object inanimate if it can prompt me to answer questions like this? Hmmm….
